The Origin

Here's my latest piece, I spent quite a while doing this and had to take a break half way through to deal with my university applications and so on. But I managed to finish it finally and here it is! I wanted to go with a more red/ orange theme with this (as I hadn't explored those colours) and thought lanterns fit into that colour scheme nicely. Also I didn't want to do a volcano type piece as I've seen plenty of them and wanted to try something different, and it was fun! (It kinda fits in with Chinese new year which is coming up real soon too ).

It was a fun piece to paint especially with so much lights to deal with, it was difficult but fun. I guess trying to keep the piece from being washed out and flat was hard and making sure that the values worked was quite a challenge. I learnt a lot from this piece and I hope I can keep improving and also loosen my self up.
